The number of software testing experts of Vietnam now just occupies for 15% of India, but this number will soon increase to three folds (about 25,000 experts) by 2011.
Be a Software Testing Expert
In 1994, at Silicon Valley, California, a Vietnamese American man opened LogiGear Corporation that focused on providing solutions in the field of software, and trained software testing for enterprises in America and others nations.
After over 10 years, in 2005, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, who was so successful in America, came back Vietnam to open Software Testing Company. This is the first software testing company in Vietnam. You always said that you decided to come back Vietnam to do business because of fun. Could you please make clear the word "fun"?
Nguyen Quoc Hung: For many people, Saigon is just a place that brings them so many business opportunities. But for me who was born and grew in Saigon, so any streets, cafes of Saigon are always in my mind. Therefore, when thinking of investing in Asia, I decided to chose Saigon because, apart from doing business, I have chance to talk Vietnamese. The importance is that I want to bring advanced technologies of software testing sector to develop in Vietnam, but not in other Asian nations.
Are you always confident to make LogiGear to be the leading software testing company in Vietnam?
Nguyen Quoc Hung: When you asked me this question, may be you think I am not a modern one. But as matter of fact, until now, I still believe that LogiGear will be a leading software testing company. In Vietnam, there have no any software testing companies except for LogiGear that have been operating for three years.
Currently, there are just testing groups who serve their own customers. We are so confident of success because our company is the first one that specializes in this field with staff trained professionally in America.
What is the most important factor for people who work in software testing sector?
Nguyen Quoc Hung: the most important factor in software testing is to have thorough grasp of general technique and knowledge. Human resources of this field have to graduate from University, speak English fairly, have a creative mind, and continue studying this field three months more before working. After 1 year of working, they just can work skillfully, and enable to implement hard jobs such as testing in the medical sector, architecture and construction... We regard engineers who work in this field as doctors who find out problems for software.
Do you have a plan to expand training of software testing in Vietnam?
Nguyen Quoc Hung: the plan for next year is to expand training and cooperate with local Universities. LogiGear will support to make plan for teaching and training.
Witting many technical books, but what books would you like to read?
Nguyen Quoc Hung: I like reading business books that talk about experiences of successful businessmen or failed ones. I think, learning real experiences from these ones is so useful.
Do you have any intention to popularize your books in Vietnam?
Nguyen Quoc Hung: My books are being translated into Vietnamese to provide for Vietnam IT, and they will be publicized next year.
With the experiences of a man who reaches the age of 50, according to you, what is the most precious thing in the life?
Nguyen Quoc Hung: I think there are four most precious things in the life. They are health, money, time and love. For me, the time is the most precious one because we can not produce time. To understanding HCMC�s people, I have started playing Jazz music in America since 2001. In 2006, I led the band San Francisco Bay Jazz in America to perform aimed at charity across Vietnam: HCMC, Da Nang, Hue, Ha Long and Ha Noi.
Which musicians' music would you like?
Nguyen Quoc Hung: I like music of Ngo Thuy Mien, Vu Thanh An, Doan Chuan-Tu Linh, Trinh Cong Son and Pham Duy. Some of Americans I like are Antonio Carlos Jobim, Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Harry Warren Jimmy Van Heusen, and Victor Young... |
